Jeff W. Gregory, P.E.
President

Serving Southern Companies Transmission

Jeff received his BSEE degree from Auburn University in 1989. From graduation in 1989 until February 1996, he worked as a Transmission and Distribution Engineer with Alabama Electric Cooperative in Andalusia, AL. In 1996, he left Alabama Electric Cooperative and joined Schweitzer Engineering Labs as a Field Application Engineer covering the Southeastern United States. He was promoted to Regional Service Manager for the Southeast, Carolina's, and lower Northeast territories in June 1999. Jeff joined Power Connections in July 2001 and he assumed the duties of President of the company. Jeff is a registered Professional Engineer in the State of Alabama.

Mike McKoy, P.E.
Sales Engineer

Serving industrial customers in Central & Southeast Alabama, Central & South Georgia, and Florida panhandle

Mike started his career in 1980 in the US Navy’s Nuclear Power Program where he was a reactor operator on a nuclear powered submarine. In 1991, he received his BSEET from Southern Tech, and since then he has worked in metering, SCADA, factory automation, and substation integration and automation. Prior to joining Power Connections in 2009, Mike worked for 8 years as the southeast Integration Application Engineer for Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories, followed by 2 years as a Senior Engineer for Georgia Power’s Substation Integration and Automation group. Mike is a patent holder and a registered Professional Engineer in the States of Alabama and Georgia.

John D. Gwin, P.E.
Sales Engineer

Serving Southern Companies Distribution & Generation

John received his BSEE degree from Auburn University in 1991. From 1991 to 2005, John worked at Decatur Utilities, a municipality in Decatur, Alabama. He held various positions including substation engineer, Superintendent, Chief Engineer and Electric Department Manager. John's time at Decatur Utilities provided him the opportunity to work in many different areas of the Electric Department, such as substation design and construction, communications, metering, SCADA, distribution design, line construction and management. John joined Power Connections in 2005. John is a registered Professional Engineer in the State of Alabama.

Doug Freemyer, P.E.
Sales Engineer

Serving Central & North Florida

Doug received his BSEE from Colorado State University in 1981. From 1980 until 1991, he worked as a consultant for electric utilities and industrial clients in the western United States. Doug's time at Miner and Miner Consulting Engineers and Electrical Systems Consultants allowed him to work in many different areas including system planning, protective relaying, transmission, distribution, and substation design. From 1991 to 2001, Doug was the Assistant Manager of Engineering for Poudre Valley Rural Electric Association. In addition to his engineering duties at Poudre Valley, he supervised the meter, transformer and recloser shops. Doug moved to Florida in 2001 to join the engineering team at Reedy Creek Energy Services and provide support for the Walt Disney World Resort utilities. While at Reedy Creek, he was involved in all aspects of system protection, substation design, instrumentation, automation and control, and communications. Doug joined Power Connections in May 2005 as a Sales Engineer. He has been a member of IEEE for over 25 years and a member of ETA KAPPA NU, the Electrical Engineering Honor Society. Doug is a registered Professional Engineer in the States of Florida, Colorado and Wyoming.

Mark Wise, P.E.
Sales Engineer

Serving utilities in Central & South Alabama, Florida Panhandle & Southeast Mississippi, and Industrials in South Mississippi

Mark received his BSEE from Auburn University in 2004. From 2004 to 2006, he worked as an Outside Plant Engineer with BellSouth Telecommunications where he gained experience in the design of both copper and fiber-optic telecommunications networks. From 2006 to 2010, he worked as Technical Services Engineer and then a System Engineer, with Covington Electric Cooperative and Wiregrass Electric Cooperative, respectively, where he gained experience in electric distribution: line design & construction, power system protection, engineering analysis, SCADA, GIS/mapping, automated staking, and outage management, along with the integration of these systems. He is a member of the IEEE and the IEEE Power & Energy Society and is also registered Professional Engineer in the State of Alabama. He joined Power Connections, Inc. in August, 2010 and is currently serving utilities in Central & South Alabama, the Florida Panhandle, and Southern Mississippi.

Tim Venters, P.E.
Sales Engineer

Serving South Florida

Tim received his AAS degree in Electrical Engineering Technology from Florence Darlington Technical college in 1986. From 1986 until 1994, Tim worked for Savannah Electric, a Southern Company, in the Fossil Generation group and his responsibilities included updating and maintaining substation relays and installing new digital distributed control systems for boiler and turbine operations. In 1995, Tim transferred into the Transmission and Distribution Engineering group where he directed field construction of new and retrofit substation projects. In 2002, Tim joined Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories as a project manager in the engineering services group in Charlotte, NC. Tim joined Power Connections in May 2009 as a sales engineer for South Florida. Tim is a registered Professional Engineer in the state of North Carolina.

Adam Patterson, P.E.
Sales Engineer

Serving MEAG and Utilities in Central and South Georgia

Adam received his BSEE from Mercer University in 2000. After graduation he began his professional career at Mercer Engineering Research Center in Warner Robins, GA. From 2000 until 2007, Adam worked as a Systems Engineer in the electronic warfare department. In 2007 Adam moved home to Dothan, AL to work for Dothan Utilities as a Transmission and Distribution Engineer. In 2009 Adam was promoted from Transmission and Distribution Engineer to SCADA Administrator and Substation Engineer. As the SCADA Administrator Adam oversaw the integration and development of a new SCADA system for Water, Waste Water, and Electric utilities. As substation engineer Adam developed protection and automation schemes for multiple substations. Adam is a registered Professional Engineer in the state of Alabama. Adam joined Power Connections, Inc. in November 2012.

Scotty M. Touchette, P.E.
Sales Engineer

Serving Entergy

Scotty received his BSEE from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette (UL-Lafayette) in 2000 and a Masters of Business Administration from UL-Lafayette in 2009. From graduation until August 2002, he worked as a Network Engineer for Williams Communications in Tulsa, OK. In 2002, he left Williams Communications and joined Lafayette Utilities System, a municipal owned utility located in Lafayette, LA, as an Electrical Engineer II. He was promoted to an Electrical Engineer III in April 2006 after he became a Professional Engineer. In October 2006, Scotty was promoted to Chief Electrical Engineer, a position he held until his departure in 2013. Scotty’s time at Lafayette Utilities System provided him the opportunity to work in many different areas of the electric department, such as substation design and construction, protective relaying, communications, metering, SCADA, and management. Scotty joined Power Connections in June 2013. Scotty is currently a registered Professional Engineer in the State of Louisiana, a member of IEEE since 1999, and a graduate of Leadership Lafayette XXVI.

Daniel E. Wray, P.E.
Sales Engineer

Serving Middle and East Tennessee

Daniel graduated from Tennessee Technological University in 2007 with his BSEE emphasizing in power system analysis and controls. After graduation, Daniel worked as an application engineer with a well-known load tapchanger manufacturer in the automation and controls group where he became group leader until 2010. From 2010 through July 2012, he worked as a distribution engineer for Warren RECC, an electric cooperative headquartered out of Bowling Green, Kentucky. As a distribution engineer, Daniel was involved with system studies, planning, coordination, SCADA, distribution automation, and substation construction. From August 2012 through May 2014, Daniel worked for the Middle Tennessee Electric Membership Corporation (MTEMC) as a substation and controls engineer. At MTEMC, he was involved with all aspects of substation design, specifications, and construction including relaying, power transformers, capacitor and voltage controls, and SCADA. Daniel is a registered professional engineer in Tennessee and a member of IEEE since 2005. Daniel joined Power Connections in May 2014.

Darron Meliet
Technical Sales

Serving industrial customers in Louisiana

Darron started his industrial career in 1990 with Industrial Specialty Contractors. In 1999, Darron joined PCS 2000 in Baton Rouge and was promoted to Senior Relay Technician shortly after joining the company. While at PCS 2000, Darron was responsible for the startup and commissioning of SEL relay and automation products on many new relaying projects for electrical transmission and distribution substations, electrical generation facilities and medium voltage switchgear installations in industrial applications primarily located in Louisiana, Mississippi and Arkansas. In 2008, Darron joined Schneider Electric’s services division where he was the relay technologist assisting with relay design and responsible for the commissioning and testing of all SEL relays and automation equipment required for the completion of the Asteroid electrical reliability project within Dow’s Energy Systems. Upon completion of the Asteroid project in 2012 Darron joined Power Connections and assumed the position of Technical Sales serving Louisiana industrial customers.

Bryan Irby, P.E.
Sales Engineer

Serving North AL, West TN, North & Central MS

Bryan received his BSEE degree from the University of Memphis in 1994. From graduation to 1999, Bryan worked for MagneTek, a manufacturer of electric motors and generators, as an application engineer and marketing manager. Bryan joined the Board of Public Utilities in Paris, TN as an electric system engineer in 1999. His responsibilities included substation design and construction, SCADA, distribution line design and construction, communications and metering. Bryan was promoted to Director of Engineering and Metering in 2007. Bryan joined Stuart C. Irby Company in 2012 as an Outside Sales Specialist supporting utility distribution automation and communication equipment in the Southeast United States. Bryan joined Power Connections in January 2016. Bryan received his MBA from Union University in 2004 and has been a licensed professional engineer in the State of Tennessee since 2002.

Mark Evans
Technical Sales

Serving Arkansas

Mark began his professional career in 1995 with Walther Corporation as Electrical Manufacturing Supervisor. While at Walther Corporation, Mark was responsible for the design, construction and commissioning of electrical systems associated with metal finishing equipment. Mark graduated from Arkansas State University in 2001 with a degree in Electronics Engineering Technology. In 2003, Mark joined Bridges Electric (acquired by Siemens) as a Sales Engineer and later as Business Development Manager. In these roles, Mark was responsible for the eastern US (east of the Mississippi) marketing and technical services, including calling on targeted accounts and serving as the technical expert for Siemens-Bridges Electric distribution class disconnect switches. Mark then joined Thomas & Betts in 2012 as an Applications Engineer. Mark covered the southern region, calling on electric utilities as the technical expert for Thomas & Betts apparatus products. Mark joined Power Connections, Inc. in April 2017.

Tyler Inzerella
Sales Engineer

Serving Utilities in Louisiana

Tyler received his BSEE from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette (UL-Lafayette) in 2013. While in college, Tyler worked as an engineering intern within the substation engineering group of Lafayette Utilities System (LUS), a municipally owned utility located in Lafayette, LA. After graduation, Tyler continued his career as an Electrical Engineer in substation engineering with LUS. While at LUS, he was involved in the installation, testing, and maintaining of protective equipment for the transmission system. Tyler left LUS in 2014 and joined Shermco Industries, an engineering service company based out of Dallas, TX, as a commissioning engineer. While at Shermco, Tyler was involved in apparatus testing as well as start-up and commissioning in both substation and power plant settings. Tyler joined Power Connections in July 2017.

TJ Motes, P.E.
Sales Engineer

Serving industrial customers in Central & South Alabama, Central & South Mississippi, and Florida panhandle

TJ received his BSEE degree from the University of South Alabama in 2011. While in college, TJ worked as an electrician for his father’s business, Technical, Engineering, and Construction Inc. in Jackson, AL. From 2012 to 2014, TJ worked as an electrical project engineer for Georgia-Pacific (GP) at their Alabama River Cellulose facility. TJ joined Olin Chlor Alkali Products in 2014 as a site electrical engineer at their McIntosh, AL facility. While at Olin, his responsibilities included design, installation, and maintenance of LV and MV equipment on a large (>250MW) power system, including protective relay upgrades and conducting power system studies using EasyPower. TJ joined Power Connections in February 2019 as a Sales Engineer. TJ is a registered professional engineer in the state of Alabama.

Matt Quigley, P.E.
Sales Engineer

Serving the Atlanta area and North Georgia

Matt received his BSEE degree from the Pennsylvania State University in 2012. Throughout high school and college Matt worked as a commercial electrician in new construction in Georgia and Florida. After graduation Matt went to work for Southern Company Services in the transmission protection and control substation design group where he designed the protection schemes for all levels of transmission substations. In 2014 Matt moved to Alabama Power as a test engineer in the protection and control field services substation integration and automation group. While he was a test engineer, he worked on integrating stations in voltage classes ranging from 12kV to 500kV. Matt joined Power Connections in September 2019. Matt is a registered professional engineer in the state of Alabama.
